Committees
It is each committee's obligation to define the ways and means of achieving its purpose and goals. Each is to choose their chair and co-chair, and to use an Officer Member as a resource. It is also their responsibility to establish when and how often they will meet. The committee chair or co-chair will report any activities or achievements of the group at the following MCDP meeting.
Standing Committees
Membership Committee: (Members:Ben Gillette, Bob Wright, Loretta Briggs, Carl Wentzlof, Chuck Olsen)
Purpose: To retain and to grow membership in the State and County Parties. This committee is responsible for input and retention of County Party membership list.
Youth Development: (Members: Kurt Troutman, Brian Gemzer)
Purpose: To grow the party through the recruitment and participation of the County's young people.
Financial / Budget Compliance Committee: (Members: Chuck Woods, Tony Moulatsiotis, D.J. Hilson)
Purpose: To raise funds and find ways to cut costs within the county party.
Communication Committee: (Members: Dan Kosheba, Rebecca McCroskey)
Purpose: To use various means of communication, including website, social networking and traditional media in order to establish a presence in Muskegon County, and to communicate with our membership.
Campaign, Candidate Recruitment (Members: Steve Markel, Mary Valentine, Marcia Hovey-Wright, Shawn Davis)
Purpose: To identify every local, county, and state election and recruit democrats to run for those positions. This committee is responsible for having readily available information and contacts for all democratic candidates looking for assistance.
Rules, Policy, Bylaws Committee: (Members: Janet Thomas, James Burton, Shawn Davis, Will Faville)
Purpose: To analyze and propose changes to the current rules, policies and bylaws for the county party. This committee is responsible for ensuring that our bylaws are followed and that they reflect the goals of our county party as it evolves.
