Muskegon County Democratic Party

The Muskegon County Democratic Party has been in existence since the late 1940s. We boast almost 200 members, and meet monthly to discuss and strategize ways to keep Democratic core values alive and working in Muskegon County. This year, we're excited to help implement Democratic National Committee Chair Howard Dean's Plan for the Democratic Party.

Elected Party Officers for 2005-2007:

Chair: Gary Conrad has been Chair of the County Party for over 20 years. He also serves on the Muskegon County Road Commission and various other community organizations.
1st Vice Chair: Janet Thomas has been an officer for several years. She is an attorney specializing in bankruptcy law, and she brings a wealth of legal expertise to the County Party.
2nd Vice Chair: Loretta Briggs is a union steward of SEIU Local #79 and works at Mercy General Health Partners. Her strong organizational skills will be an asset to the Party.
Secretary: Ken Mahoney is a former mathematics teacher from the Montague area. He has served as Party Secretary for several years and knows party procedures inside and out.
Treasurer: Kurt Troutman is a government professor at Muskegon Community College and brings an in-depth understanding of politics to the Party.
